Born Again - Being "Born Again" is totally a work of God. God grants us the ability to turn from selfishness & sin by turning and believing in the name of Jesus Christ (God's Son). This is referred to as repentance. When we turn away from our disbelief and turn to God we place our trust in Jesus Christ. As the son of God, Jesus came to pay the penalty for our sins and the sins of the whole world. To be "Born....of God," means receiving a new spiritual life once you place your trust in Jesus. God gives us a new spiritual nature through the Holy Spirit (His spirit). Jesus died for the sins of the world. Jesus paid the penalty for all sin which displays God's overflowing grace and mercy as He grants us new birth (1 Peter 1.3 , paraphrased). The story of how one is "Born Again" can be found in the Holy Bible in the book of John chapter three. Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 15 “that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (John 3.3,15-18). Accept Jesus into Your Heart!!!
New Relationship with God & Others - God through Jesus Christ has restored relationship between man the sinner and Himself the Holy Creator. God through Jesus Christ teaches us to be at peace with our neighbors through forgiveness and love. Because we are forgiven we are commanded to forgive. God desires for us to be in an intimate relationship with Himself through Jesus Christ.
To Be Completed - God desires to "make us whole" through His unmerited favor and love. God promises that He will complete us in Jesus Christ until the day of His return (Philippians 1.6).
